2026–2027 Calendar and School Schedule

The AHCS school year begins Tuesday, September 8, 2026, and ends Thursday, May 27, 2027. AHCS follows a four-day school week, Monday through Thursday. Students attend on Fridays only upon request or invitation for group projects, small-group instruction, individual support, field trips, or testing. Daily school hours:

• Kindergarten–8th grade: 8:15 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

• High school, grades 9–12: 8:15 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Here are the highlights:

• September 8: First day of school.

• October 1–2: No school for students, teacher work and professional development days.

• Friday, October 9: PSAT for 10th graders and ASVAB for 11th and 12th graders. Students in these grades should attend from 8:00 a.m. to approximately noon for college and career testing.

• November 20–29: Thanksgiving break. School resumes Monday, November 30.

• December 18–January 3: Christmas break. School resumes Monday, January 4, 2027.

• February 15: No school for Presidents’ Day.

• March 19–28: Spring break. School resumes Monday, March 29.

• Friday, April 2: SAT testing for 11th graders. Juniors should attend from 8:00 a.m. to approximately noon.

• May 14–21: Secondary Expedition Period, featuring concentrated electives and including Friday attendance on May 14 and May 21. Please plan travel and appointments outside this period, as absences may affect students’ ability to earn credit.

• May 25: High school graduation. Details will be announced.

• May 27: Last day of school.
